Terms of Service

These Terms apply to your use of The Buildyard: our Minecraft build server and this website (buildyard.cardycraft.com), operated by CardyCraft ("we", "us"). By logging in, linking your account or joining the server you agree to them, together with our Community Rules, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. Who can use it

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law in your country sets a higher age for using online services or for agreeing to how your data is used. Younger players need their parent or guardian to agree on their behalf.
  • You need a Minecraft: Java Edition account you are entitled to use, and a Discord account for the website. You must follow the Minecraft EULA and Discord's terms.
  • One person, one account. Don't share your login or link code with anyone.

2. Accounts and linking

You log in to the website with Discord and link your Minecraft account with a code you generate in-game (/link). You are responsible for what happens under your accounts. Tell us if you think someone else has access.

3. Ranks and membership

  • Everyone starts as a User. A User may own one world of up to 4000 × 4000 blocks once they have played 100 hours.
  • Member is granted by application. The owner reviews every application by hand and decides at their own discretion. A decision is final, but we usually explain a refusal and you can apply again after 14 days.
  • Other ranks (Donator, Royalty, Mod, Admin, Owner) are given by us. Limits and perks of each rank can change; we will try to announce big changes in advance.
  • We can lower or remove a rank if the rules are broken or the account is misused.

4. Your content

"Content" means everything you build, upload or write: worlds, schematics, application answers, chat messages, names and skins.

  • You keep ownership of your content. We don't claim it.
  • You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, back up, process and display your content, and to show it to other players where you made it public, only as needed to run and moderate The Buildyard. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for backups that are removed within a reasonable time and copies we must keep for legal reasons.
  • You promise that you own your content or have permission to use it, and that it doesn't break the law or anyone's rights. Don't upload other people's builds, schematics or worlds without permission.
  • Staff can look inside worlds, uploads and logs to moderate, fix problems and enforce the rules.
  • Some files are temporary by design: unconfigured world uploads are removed after 24 hours, world download links expire after 24 hours, and schematics not touched for 90 days move to an archive.

5. Rules and moderation

You must follow the Community Rules. We may warn, mute, kick, ban, restrict, delete content or end access when they are broken, when the law requires it, or to keep the server safe and working. Where we remove your content or restrict your account we will tell you why, unless we are legally prevented from doing so, and you can ask us to reconsider by contacting us (see the end of this page).

6. Donations and paid perks

  • We do not take payments on this website at the moment. If we do, the conditions shown at checkout apply in addition to these Terms.
  • Donations are voluntary. Perks such as cosmetics are a thank-you: they are cosmetic and never give a gameplay advantage. Perks are not property, cannot be transferred, and we may change or stop offering them.
  • Unless mandatory law says otherwise, donations are not refundable, and losing access because of broken rules does not entitle you to a refund. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

7. The service as it is

The Buildyard is a hobby-scale community server. We work to keep it running but cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important: the dashboard lets you download your worlds and schematics. Save-games, worlds and features can be changed, reset or removed.

8. Our rights and Minecraft

The website, our plugins, designs and text belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or resell them. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB / Microsoft. The Buildyard is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang, Microsoft or Discord. Please read the Minecraft Usage Guidelines: for example, we cannot sell gameplay advantages.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost worlds or lost data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for intent, gross negligence, injury, or your mandatory consumer rights).

10. Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We can suspend or end your access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms or the Rules, or if we shut the service down.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms, for example when features change or the law does. We will show the new date at the top and, for important changes, tell you on the website or on our Discord. If you keep using the service after a change you accept the new version.

12. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Belgium. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply to you. We would like to solve any problem with you first: contact us and we will do our best. If you are an EU consumer you can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
